History of EZÚ

1919    - establishment of Elektrotechnický svaz československý (Czechoslovak Electrotechnical Union) – “ESČ”
1926    - establishment of ESČ’s laboratory
1935    - the laboratory started to grant the ESČ mark
1951    - winding up of Elektrotechnický svaz československý
1952    - the laboratory obtained the name Elektrotechnický zkušební ústav (Electronic Testing Institute) – “EZÚ”
1961    - EZÚ was a founding member of the European Certification System CEE
1961    - EZÚ became a member of the system for homologation of motor vehicle accessories pursuant to
            regulations of the European Economic Commission of the UNO
1985    - EZÚ was a founding member of the world-wide IECEE-CB certification system
1989    - commencement of EMC tests in EZÚ
1990    - commencement of certification of gaming machines in EZÚ
1991    - commencement of certification of management systems pursuant to ISO 9000 standards
1992    - EZÚ obtained the first accreditation
1993    - ESČ mark registered as a mark representing conformity with standards
1993    - EZÚ became a founding member of CQS
1996    - EZÚ entered into the European certification system CCA
1997    - EZÚ entered into the ENEC system
1997    - EZÚ became a founding member of the European Electrical Products Certification Association – EEPCA
1997    - EZÚ obtained an authorization from ÚNMZ (Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing) to assess
            conformity pursuant to Act No. 22/1997, Coll.
1997    - based upon an authorization by ÚNMZ, EZÚ commenced coordination activities to ensure uniform
            procedure and approach of all authorized persons in conformity assessment 
1998    - EZÚ extended its services by certification of environmental management systems
2000    - EZÚ obtained accreditation for its calibration laboratory
2001    - EZÚ became Notified Person No. 1014
2002    - EZÚ entered the HAR system
2004    - EZÚ became a founding member of the LVD – NBF notified persons forum 
2005    - EZÚ obtained an authorization to perform attestations of public administration information systems
2006    - EZÚ commenced measuring of hazardous substances pursuant to the Restriction of Hazardous
            Substances Directive (RoHS)
2006    - EZÚ became a founding member of the IT Service Management Forum
2007    - EZÚ commenced certification of IT management systems
2008    - EZÚ became a founding member of the European Certification System ECS
2009    - EZÚ became involved in creation of technical standards as a technical standardization centre
